FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL : over!
I'm a sophomore this year. There were lots of awk introductions and those lame getting-to-know-your-classmates bingo cards that I detest so much. I was anticipating for this school year to be all new and shiny and exciting but no, not much.

I'm in this dull state of disappointment and routine. Blah. Hopefully it gets better- right now I'm just trying to swim out of it.
The past several days consisted of deep breathing. Also smiling a little more. It's usually all rainbows and stars and pastel colors and all things chill but at times like this, I wish I had a punching bag to release the tension! I'm thinking of joining a kick-boxing class. The last three months were basically spent prepping my brain for school and people*.
I refashioned some forgotten, dust-covered clothes from the garage a couple of weeks ago:
before XXL shift dress
after A-line dress with keyhole cutout
The silhouette was inspired by Suzy Bishop's darling A-line shift dress from Moonrise Kingdom. I personally think the dress would be 10x cooler if the pattern of the fabric was plaid like Cher and Dionne's skirt and blazer outfit in Clueless.
(I will post photos with the garment on at a later time because I still need to make some adjustments! The waist of the skirt shimmies down to my hips which then makes no room for my bum -.-;)
before large pinstripe men's shirt
after sleeveless top with pleat on back
I was actually going to make a tutorial on this back in June to start off my blog with a bang but it was soso difficult. I made so many mistakes- plus with having to take pictures and forming a not so definite pattern, I was getting nothing done! When I'm more advanced and know what I'm doing, I'll make a sewing tutorial~ For this top, I was going for a baseball jersey feel.
I love to wear this with some shorts and white Keds! It's so comfy and light.
My room is quite messy. I share it with my older sister. Once she moves out (probably this year?) I'm thinking of painting the walls white- I can't stand the brown.
I'm going to the outlet mall with my mother tomorrow to go autumn shopping for my brother's and I. I have school off for Labor Day, so until then, I'll be posting my school essentials and awesome finds! Bye bye~
